Biography

Garry C. Thorington, 65, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Northwood’s of Cortland, where he had been a resident since 2007.

A lifelong area resident, Garry was born December 23, 1944, a son of the late Alfred and Velma Soules Thorington.

He is survived by two brothers, Larry Thorington of Preble and Richard Thorington of McGraw; four sisters, Sharon Strauf of Cortland; Betsy Brewer of Norwich; Eleanor Dunn of Dryden and Loretta Taylor of Tyler, TX as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Garry was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Thorington in 1992.

Calling hours will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Thorington’s name may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
