Biography
Rena E. Mallery, 92, of McGraw, NY passed away February 20, 2010 in the Cortland Regional Nursing Facility.
She was born in McGrawville on January 20, 1918, the daughter of Claude and Seraph Horton Atkins.
She lived in the McGraw area until the last few years. She was a member of the McGrawville Baptist Church for 79 years. As a young woman, she worked at the telephone office in McGraw and in the 1970’s for Craig’s Florist.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and in her flower gardens. When in her 80’s, she was happiest riding her four-wheeler with her grandchildren and their friends.
Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Leon Mallery of McGraw; three daughters, Delores (Ron) Delaney of Auburn; Roberta Reardon of Cortland (former husband, Gary Reardon of McGraw); Linda (Jeff) Schloupt of Cortland; one son, Lynn (Carol Lee) Mallery of Naugatuck, CT; eight grandchildren, Donna Reardon (Pat Predmore), Stacy Reardon (Shawna Gillette), Terence (Charlene) Reardon of McGraw, Carole (David Johnson) Reardon of Aquilla, TX, Michael Delaney of Tampa, FL and Joelle Delaney of Rocky River, OH, Todd (Kasey) Williams of Lafayette, IN and Tim Williams of Bayfield, CO; 10 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Ruth Maybury and Lucille Streeter and a brother, Clifford Atkins; also an infant daughter, Donna Lee in 1942.
A celebration of her life will be held at the convenience of her family.
