Janet A. Robinson 77, of Glen Haven Rd., Scott, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer while under the care of hospice and her loving family.

A lifelong area resident, she was born April 3, 1940 a daughter of the late Leslie and Luthera Schenk Wafer and was a 1957 graduate Homer High School.

Janet was the owner and operator of the Scott Hotel for 28 years, where over the years she made many friends, from her regulars to those just “passing through” Janet always made everyone feel welcome. She was previously employed at Wilson and Green Lumber, Cortland.

Surviving is her loving and faithful husband of 42 years, Donald G. Robinson, Jr.; her seven children Crystal (Brian “Spud”) Smith of Homer; Diane (Coon) Tuttle of Cortland; Gail (Bob) Coon of Cortland; Daniel (Rachelle) Coon of Charlotte NC; Michael (Lisa)Coon of Homer; Sherry (Joe) Watkins of Homer and Nathan (Katy) Robinson of Boise ID; her sister, Nancy (Alfred) Coon of Homer; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 US Route 11, Homer, with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Scott Union Cemetery, Route 41, Homer. A celebration of life for Janet will follow the interment at the Homer American Legion, 63 S. Main St., Homer.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
