Steven L. Morgan

Steven L. Morgan, 56, of Preble Rd., Preble lost his courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, June 10, 2017.

A lifelong and proud Preble resident, he was born January 15, 1961, a son of Howard Jack Morgan and Charlotte Metcalf Morgan.

Steve was a man of strong faith who loved the Lord. He enjoyed dancing and especially loved to race, collect, ride and fix lawnmowers.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Cindy ‘Chic’ Bush; his six children, Holly Hanford of Cortland; Jeremy (Lori) Cornue of Camillus; Krystal Morgan (Jamie West) and Julie (Luke) Hopkins, both of Homer; Rachel Morgan of Lafayette and Alexandreah Morgan of Nedrow and his mother, Charlotte Morgan of Preble. Also surviving is his sister, Rosemary (Eric) Wright of Liverpool; three brothers, Edwin Morgan of Groton;  John (Cindy) Morgan of Preble and Dennis Morgan of Homer; ten grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Dale Morgan.  

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 Route 11, Homer.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Preble Congregational Church, 1953 Preble Rd., Preble, with Pastor Rebecca West officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Preble.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Morgan’s name may be directed to the Preble Congregational Church, 1953 Preble Rd., Preble, NY 13141.
