Edna E. Longenecker

Edna E. Longenecker, 75, of Route 11, Homer, passed away while under the care of Hospice and her loving family on Monday, July 25, 2017.

Edna was born July 15, 1942 in Altoona, PA, a daughter of the late John W. and Lois E. Hinton Lehman and had attended Old Bean Hill High School in Martinsburg, PA.

She was employed for 32 years at Albany International Monofilament, retiring in 2005 as the warehouse supervisor.   

Edna's passion was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She bowled in several leagues and was a junior bowling coach.  She was a member of the Red Hots Society and enjoyed the many wonderful trips with the Cortland Senior Club, where she was an active member. In addition, she was a volunteer at the Elizabeth Brewster House in Homer.

Edna is survived by two daughters Wanda (David) Rawson of Marathon and Deborah (David) Hatch of Homer; a sister, Rita( James) Novak of Windber, PA; brother, Stanley Lehman of Altoona, PA; three grandsons,  Jeremiah (Jennifer) Rawson of McGraw; Travis (Jessica) Fellows of Homer; and Shane (Brenna) Fellows of Summer Shade KY; her great grandchildren, Juliana and Jacob Rawson, Seth Dowd, Sawyer Fellows, Jaxon and Rayne Fellows, Liliana and Tyler Lester and Jordan Michalowski.  Edna was blessed to have many dear friends especially Colleen Keegan, Sharon Lanphear, Andrea Bennett, Leah Wexell and Toni Seamans. 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Cathy-Jo, a baby boy and her brother, William Lehman.

Please join the family in a celebration of Edna’s life on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 1-5 pm at the Homer Community Building (behind the Homer Fire Department), Main St., Homer.

In recognition of the exceptional care, kindness and compassion she received during her battle with cancer, memorial contributions may be made to the Cortland Memorial Foundation, 134 Homer Ave., Cortland, NY 13045.
